Job Summary

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior System Administrator to support mission-critical IT operations at Joint Base San Antonio (Lackland, TX). In this role, you will analyze and resolve complex issues related to server hardware, system applications, and software integration across secure environments.

The Senior System Administrator will be responsible for configuring and managing both UNIX and Windows operating systems, maintaining network integrity, and implementing system enhancements to ensure maximum reliability, security, and performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance support for enterprise IT systems.
  • Manage IT infrastructure and all processes associated with servers, storage, and networking.
  • Deliver day-to-day operational support, monitoring, and issue resolution across client/server, storage, and mobile devices.
  • Provide Tier 1 (Help Desk) and Tier 2 (Escalation) support, including problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution.
  • Support system and hardware issue escalation, providing timely communication to agency management and internal customers.
  • Configure and manage UNIX and Windows operating systems, installing and maintaining operating system software.
  • Troubleshoot and enhance network components to improve performance, reliability, and security.
  • Implement and maintain system documentation, operational procedures, and configuration standards.
  • Participate in system upgrades, patch management, and integration of new technologies.

Required Qualifications

  • U.S. Citizenship (required).
  • Active TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph (FSP) clearance (required).
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university.
  • Ten (10) years of experience as a System Administrator (SA) in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
    • Five (5) additional years of SA experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.
  • IAT Level I certification (DoD 8570 compliant).
  • Hands-on experience with:
    • Linux/Red Hat Operating Systems
    • VMware and related virtualization technologies
  • Strong troubleshooting, configuration, and optimization skills across multiple system environments.
  • Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively within a high-security environment.
